It doesn’t matter what age you are, if you do the wrong thing you can expect to pay the price and end up before the court – just ask these pensioners.
These Northern Rivers pensioners found themselves on the wrong side of the law this year.
We take a look back at some of the crimes they were convicted for in 2020:
• Paul Anthony Johnson
A disability pensioner punched a taxi driver when asked to pay his fare, a North Coast court heard.
Paul Anthony Johnson, 61, appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court on November 16 facing a charge of common assault.
April
April 1: The NRL’s newly established Innovation Committee launches Project Apollo, a mission to have the premiership back up and running by July 1. The committee considers a range of options, including isolating players from all 16 clubs on Tangalooma Island in Queensland before transporting them to venues such as Suncorp Stadium and Cbus Super Stadium for games.
NRL boss Todd Greenberg agrees to take the same pay cut as players in an effort to secure the agreement of players on a new pay deal.
The NSW Government confirms that sporting events are exempt from new restrictions introduced to curb the spread of coronavirus, providing hope that the NRL can recommence its season by June or July.

As the current COVID-19 climate evolves, restrictions are often changing along with it. The province of Ontario has put together five separate health zones to protect against the transmission of the virus and most importantly prevent the death toll from rising.
However, since the beginning of the global pandemic one thing has stayed consistent. Protecting those who are high risk.

Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys recently announced a number of rule changes to take effect from the start of next year.
Like many others, I wanted to know more about the specifics of these changes, so I went looking, mostly on NRL.com. What I found caused me to question whether the NRL has any notion of good change management.
There are some simple steps that should be followed when making changes and I want to work through what these are and what Vlandy’s and Andrew Abdo have to say about them.
