The New York Giants have bolstered their running back depth by signing veteran Corey Clement, one of five tryout players who participated in the team s rookie minicamp this weekend.
Clement was originally an undrafted free agent signed by the Philadlephia Eagles in 2017, but he went on to have a success story with the Giants NFC East rivals.
He recorded the second-most all-purpose yards (1,367) by an undrafted free agent in his first three seasons as an Eagle since the 1970 merger. Clement was also one of the statistical stars of Super Bowl LII, catching a team-high 100 receiving yards in that win over the New England Patriots.

Career to date
After being drafted in the fourth round by the Denver Broncos in 2016, Booker has pretty much always been in the role for which the Giants have signed him a secondary back.
Booker’s best year was his rookie season when he gained a team-leading 612 yards on 174 carries, taking over as the lead back in the middle of the season when C.J. Anderson went on IR. Since that time, the most carries has received were the 93 he got last season with the Las Vegas Raiders. He gained 423 yards, averaging 4.5 yards per carry in his only season with the Raiders.

Frank Gore has delighted the football world since he entered the league in 2005 as a third-round pick. With the 2021 season approaching, NFL fans are hoping the future Hall of Famer returns for his 17th season.
Gore, who turned 38 on May 14, spent the 2020 season with the New York Jets. One of former head coach Adam Gase’s favorite players, the veteran running back served as a mentor for the Jets’ young roster and still played significant snaps as a 37-year-old.
Many football fans kept an eye on Gore this offseason, hoping the beloved running back would find a home. But the 2021 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror and as mandatory minicamp approaches, he still isn’t signed.

For the most part, the NFL rookies who get the most attention are those selected early on in the draft. Quarterbacks also tend to get a ton of play as they prepare for their inaugural seasons in the pros.
With that said, we see mid-round picks excel every single year. We don’t expect 2021 to be the exception to this rule. From a talented wide receiver in Southern California to a few elite-level pass rushers, there will be some surprising rookies moving forward.
Narrowing down that list to teams we expect to earn a playoff spot in 2021, here’s a look at some NFL rookies set to surprise once September comes calling.
