Angelo Rickey Smith, from Detroit, was arraigned in Macomb County on Monday on five charges, including: felony murder, second-degree murder, first-degree fleeing a police office, second-degree fleeing a police officer and commission of a felony with a motor vehicle.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A driver wanted by police caused a deadly crash in Sterling Heights early Friday morning, officials say.
According to authorities, Macomb County deputies attempted to pull over a white Jeep Cherokee at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday night in the area of 30 Mile and Van Dyke roads. Officials say several cars were stolen from a car dealership in Washington Township, including the Jeep Cherokee in question.
The driver of the Jeep did not stop for police, and officers began a pursuit. The Sterling Heights Police Department says that the pursuit was called off before the driver reached the city of Sterling Heights. It is currently unclear why the police chase was called off.

This weekend, I finally took a step of living in Michigan I wanted to do for a long time. And that was being disappointed by the Detroit Tigers.
As I had said in a previous column about baseball, the last time I went to a MLB game was at Yankee Stadium 10 years ago, and even though the Yankees were playing the Oakland Athletics that night, it was basically another tourist stop on my family vacation to New York, seeing all the Yankee history there and leaving when we could not take the July heat anymore.
