This week, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is explaining the government’s economic and budget outlook for Australia for the next 40 years in his 2021 Intergenerational Report (IGR).
Like Australia’s previous four such reports, Frydenberg’s 2021 report relies heavily on its assumption for real economic growth, which in turn is heavily reliant on its assumptions for population growth, productivity and labour force participation.
