Tom Wolf’s office announced Wednesday. “Aviation plays a vital role in keeping our state’s economy moving,” Wolf said. “These investments will help Pennsylvania’s airports operate safely, expand to meet current demands, and sustain growth well into the future.” Carlisle Airport, in Cumberland County, is slated to receive $3 million to acquire South Middleton Township’s airport. The acquisition of the privately-owned airport will “help to preserve the future” of the facility “within the jurisdiction as a public-use general aviation airport,” Wolf’s office said.

Erie County Sees 303 Weekly COVID-19 Cases, Four Deaths

34 new cases were reported today along with two deaths by Nick Warren denisismagilov / Erie Reader On Wednesday, April 28, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced 34 new positive cases of COVID-19 along with two additional deaths.  Erie County s cumulative total now stands at 19,683 total cases and 461 total deaths. In the past week, there have been 303 new cases and four deaths listed in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). On average, there were more than 43 new cases per day last week, for a decrease of ten cases per day compared to last week s data.  Currently, there are 18 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Erie County, with one requiring a ventilator.
