Foreigners eligible for a fast pass that simplifies conversion at banks
Shanghai became the first city in China to launch a pilot policy that simplifies currency exchange services for foreigners.
Foreigners who work in companies registered in Pudong district will no longer need to bring documents such as employment contracts, proof of income and tax completion certificates when they want to exchange their money in Chinese yuan to foreign currencies.

Aurora Festival of Lights
5-9 p.m. Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, through Dec. 26 at Phillips Park, 1000 Ray Moses Drive, enter from Smith Boulevard, Aurora. The winter holiday drive offers more than a mile of lighted displays, some animated, including the 20-foot singing, dancing Christmas tree. Donations accepted. www.aurorafestivaloflights.com.

The government of Manitoba is partnering with Red River College to launch a new microcredential that will build a skilled workforce to support Manitoba’s rapid test strategy for COVID-19.
“Our government’s number one priority in the face of this pandemic is to protect Manitobans and halt the spread of this deadly virus,” said Premier Brian Pallister. “With the launch of this new micro-credential, Manitoba will be well-positioned to support the creation of targeted rapid testing initiatives to protect our front-line workers and the Manitobans they care for.”
