WESTLAKE, La. (KPLC) - A man is accused of jumping into a car and pulling a gun at a red light in Westlake Thursday, officials there say.
Westlake Police Chief Chris Wilrye says the suspect and victim knew each other.
The victim was able to get away safely, according to information posted by the Westlake Police Department.

Five people accused of a crime spree across Ohio are in custody after a dangerous standoff with police on Jan. 21.
Sharmeka Canty, 29, Deavon Morgan, 39, Robert Green, 33, and Christina Canty, 28, are each being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on a $20,000 bond. Another suspect, James Burrows, 38, is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The standoff began at 2 p.m. when 10 Westlake police officers surrounded their car at PNC Bank at Crocker and Detroit roads. An officer tried to speak with the occupants, but Burrows backed into one of the police cars repeatedly to escape. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into the front of the bank, causing minimal damage. There were no injuries to civilians, officers or the suspects, according to police reports.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Westlake Police Department said that it is investigating a series of residential burglaries.
Five break-ins have occurred since Jan. 22 on the West end of the city, according to a department Facebook post. The homes were all unoccupied at the time of the burglaries.
Burglaries have happened in the early evening just after dark on Lexington Court, Prince Charles Avenue, Inverness Circle, Forest Lake Drive, and Royal Woods Place, according to the post.

WESTLAKE, Ohio An SUV drove head-on into a bank in Westlake Thursday while trying to flee from police, officials say.
Officers received information about a white GMC Yukon that was allegedly involved in unspecified criminal activity in the area. They located the vehicle in the parking lot of the PNC Bank on Crocker and Detroit Roads and attempted to talk with the people inside.
Authorities claim that is when the driver of the Yukon backed into a police car several times and then drove head-on into the building. The cops arrested five people in the incident, four inside the car and another inside the bank.
