âThe Tyrone Township Board of Trustees approved an agreement to improve White Lake Road between Carmer and Hartland roads, approximately three-quarters of a mile.
âThe road improvement project includes placing a hot mix asphalt wedge course and hot mix asphalt overlay, altogether with
the necessary related work. The work will be completed within the current contract year, unless the parties otherwise so agree.
âAccording to the engineering report, the estimated cost is $260,000.
âTyrone Township will pay the Livingston County Road Commission 50 percent of the cost of the project, not to exceed $130,000. The remaining balance will be paid by the road commission.
âThe annual Forecast Breakfast, hosted by the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce, was held remotely this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Laundry, Lewis & Knopf CPAs, PC and Consumers Energy sponsored the online event.
âKeynote speaker was Jim Holcomb, senior executive vice president and general counsel of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. In a pre-recorded video, Holcomb said although times are difficult now, he looks forward to when everyone can meet again in person.
âThe Michigan Chamber has 5,000 members and there are members in all counties of the state. âWe are the leading voice of business advocacy,â he said. He added that the vaccine is crucial for moving forward.

The Tyrone Township Board is weighing potential road projects for the coming year.
At a recent virtual meeting, the board discussed possible road projects to consider for the Livingston County Road Commissionâs Primary Road Pavement Preservation Program. It was stated during the meeting that all local roads are way underfunded so the county has been focusing on paving primary roads through cost sharing agreements with local municipalities in which each party pays 50%. The township doesnât have a road millage and thus has to budget for projects. Supervisor Mike Cunningham noted the budget surplus wonât be as bountiful as in the past as they did a lot of things at the township this year but said theyâll still have a surplus. He said theyâve been putting a lot of money into roads the last few years and will be carrying over just a little bit over $500,000 into this year.
