Marwell Zoo is searching for a new primate animal keeper

Do you love animals? Then we may have found the perfect role for you. ALWAYS wanted to work with animals? Then we may have found the perfect role for you. Marwell Zoo is on the hunt for a new Senior Animal Keeper to look after its Primates and Small Mammals. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with a range of species including Golden-Lion Tamarins, Siamang, Long-Nosed Potoroo, Two-Toed Sloth and White-Faced Saki Monkeys. The Hampshire zoo currently has one full time role (40 hours per week) listed on its website, but sadly, not just anyone can apply. Marwell is looking for applicants who have a strong understanding of primate and small mammal species’ biology, natural history, husbandry & welfare.

New baby lifts spirits at Isle of Wight s Amazon World

By Lucy Morgan Audience and Content Editor The tiny baby monkey, in a photo posted by Amazon World on Facebook Isle of Wight animal attraction Amazon World has posted photos of its newest arrival - a baby White Faced Saki Monkey. Mum Gracie welcomed her new baby on February 7, keepers revealed on their Facebook page (where you can see more photos). The animals normally live in the forests of South America. The monkeys at the Newchurch-based park are part of an international breeding programme, due to threats to their habitat. The tiny monkey has yet to be named and dad, Mr Saki, is keeping a watchful eye , said Amazon World.
