POLITES, Margie POLITES (Kossoudji), Margie D. Age 76, formerly of Centerville and Waynesville, passed away in Sarasota, FL, on Saturday, April 3, 2021, due to complications from Alzheimer s disease. Margie was born on August 1, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, to Demetrius Kossoudji and Athena Tepelides. She was a graduate of Colonel White High School in 1962. Her outstanding organizational skills and friendly disposition led her to spend much of her professional life in accounting roles for her Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Gem City Lumber, Moyer Mortgage, and General Motors before deciding to stay at home to raise two sons. She was co-owner of South Dayton Wallpaper Plus where she and partner Darla Stenglein decorated hundreds of homes and the Bachelor Officer Quarters at WPAFB during the 1980s. They were instructed to put up pink and burgundy wallpaper in the B.O.Q. because it had a calming effect . She took pride in her spectacular garden and was a member of the Oak Creek

Tippecanoe County schools: Resolutions pass against school choice bill

MONON, Ind. – Representatives from 13 different school corporations in areas surrounding Tippecanoe County gathered at North White High School Monday evening to pass a resolution jointly protesting bills currently moving through Indiana legislature regarding education and school choice. Those present voted on resolutions opposing the bills  House Bill 1005 and Senate Bills 412 and 413, which aim to expand school choice options in Indiana by increasing income eligibility for school choice vouchers, increasing scholarship amounts and creating a new Education Scholarship Account program, according to the IndyStar. HB 1005 passed the House Feb. 16 and is currently under consideration by the Senate. SB 413 passed the Senate Feb. 23 and is currently in the House.
