In the summer time, when there’s no pandemic, the deck over the Looking Glass River at Fabiano’s River House Bar & Grill in Portland is rocking. Live music on the weekends, a huge fireplace, big big crowds and good times.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - The Friday Fish Fry will go on at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Shaker Heights, with one difference.
“This year, we’re going to do a drive-thru, takeout only. No dine-in whatsoever,” says organizer Mark Henning. “We still want to offer it to the community because they look forward to it.”

It s Lenten Fish Fry season in the Utica-Rome Mohawk Valley region and we re wondering which local restaurant has the best fish fry. Who is Number 1?
Everybody seems to have it on the menu. It s a very popular item year round in this area, but the time between Ash Wednesday and Good Friday seems to kick it up a notch, as the celebrity chefs say.
Let s start with the local fish markets in the area. We have some awesome fish markets around the area that specialize in seafood.

How this tiny village made its local bar the Best Outdoor Dining spot in Northern Michigan

Along with friend Julie Saunders, they took over ownership of the bar on Oct. 28.
After some remodeling, painting and cleaning, they reopened it on Nov. 14.
Then, four days later, they had to close for indoor dining like all Michigan restaurants to adhere to health department guidelines because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“But it was a fantastic four days,” Jeff Lay said.
“The locals were all pouring back in, and they were happy what we had done with the place, and excited we didn’t change the name or get rid of any of the artifacts or history that’s in the bar.”
Starting Friday, Feb. 12, the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department is back with their Friday Fish Fry s.

It s time now to meet the newest members of our Morning Mug Club brought to you by Holland Farms Bakery & Deli.
Starting Friday, Feb. 12, the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department is back with their Friday Fish Fry s.
They run each Friday through the season of lent, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
The menu includes fried haddock with french fries, baked fish with a baked potato, shrimp. All meals are $10 each. Takeouts are available. They are also serving a dinner consisting of chicken fingers.
