Friday Eldredge & Clark LLP announced Monday that it had established the Friday Forward Fellowship, a program created by its diversity, equity and inclusion committee to increase the number of law school students from diverse backgrounds.
The firm said diversity includes race, ethnicity, sexual and gender identity, military service, socioeconomic status, faith and beliefs, disability status and immigrant upbringing.
The firm said it s committed to seeking those populations in Arkansas colleges and universities to provide financial support and mentorship. The effort aims to inspire a more diverse representation in the Arkansas legal profession, according to the firm.
Up to 10 students will be selected for the program each school year, beginning in the spring. These Friday Fellows will be provided financial aid to attend an LSAT prep course and a personal mentorship from a firm attorney.
