LISBON The Strout family plans to welcome the members and friends of the Lisbon Historical Society at an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22.
The event to occur at the Lisbon Village School Apartments, 273 Lisbon St., on the corner of Gartley Street and Route 196 is to mark the completion of the restoration of the 1893 school building which was originally the former Lisbon High School, and later the elementary school for Lisbon Village.
Bob and Aline Strout have completely renovated the school building, retaining as much of the historical features as possible while converting former classroom areas to apartment suites.

BRUNSWICK Jean McGuigan breathed a sigh of relief Friday afternoon as she made her way from one end of the gymnasium to the other at the Brunswick Parks & Recreation Center shortly after receiving her first coronavirus vaccine.
An education technician at Morse High School in Bath, McGuigan spends about 95 percent of her school day within 3 feet of the special education students she works with. This year has been difficult with additional restrictions necessary for physical distancing, sanitizing and keeping students safe amid the pandemic.
