Warren County and St. Luke’s University Health Network officials are sounding the alarm that more COVID-19 vaccine doses are “desperately” needed from the State of New Jersey.
St. Luke’s Warren Campus President Scott Wolfe in a letter Tuesday to Gov. Phil Murphy said supplies have forced the Phillipsburg hospital to curtail clinic hours. Once the second round of booster shots are administered, without additional vaccine, the clinic may need to close, Wolfe warned.

Phillipsburg Town Council this week shook off opposition from residents and voted unanimously to denounce New Jersey COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
The all-Republican council unanimously passed a resolution accusing Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy “under the pretense of public safety” of having “deprived New Jersey citizens of the right to pursue safety and happiness; to worship in the manner most agreeable to him or her; and to assemble in the manner of their own choosing . .”

On Dec. 1, Phillipsburg Councilman Robert Fulper asked for a resolution to be put forward for the next council meeting opposing Gov. Phil Murphy’s actions on the COVID-19 pandemic in New Jersey, with the support of councilman Frank McVey. I oppose such an irresponsible resolution. I instead ask the council to make an attempt to work more closely with the governor’s office to help provide any available information and resources to our small business owners who are struggling, not at the hands of Republicans or Democrats, but by a global epidemic.
