There are “no reasonable grounds” to believe a Sault Ste. Marie Police Service officer committed a criminal offence in connection with an early December arrest, Special Investigations Unit says.
On Dec. 3, a man, 38, was arrested and subsequently diagnosed with serious injuries at hospital. Because there was “some prospect” that the complainant’s injuries were incurred in the course of his arrest, SIU was notified and investigated.
