Waterbury artist Thelma Appel will hold an exhibit of her latest works, “Images of Danger and Hope” at the Five Points Annex Gallery, beginning Friday through July 5.
On Saturday, the gallery will hold a reception with the artist from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Appel will answer question and answers via a Zoom meeting from 5:30 to 6 pm.

On both Friday and Saturday, the gallery will feature with live music and refreshment from 3 to 6 p.m.
Appel, a representational and abstract artist, has had her work exhibited in several corporate, institutional and private collections, including the Vermont State Legislature, the Milwaukee Art Institute, the New York Police Academy Museum, the Brattleboro and Bennington Museums of Vermont, the Mattatuck Museum, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Chase, Manhattan

Montpelier, Vt. – The State of Vermont honors the legacy of Leonard “Len” Crouse after his passing on May 6, 2021. Len was appointed the first Deputy Commissioner of the then newly created Captive Insurance division in 2003 and prior to that served as the Director of Captive Insurance since 1990 for the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation (formally, the Department Banking, Insurance, Securities, and Health Care Administration). While Deputy Commissioner, Len was responsible for Vermont’s administration and regulation of captive insurance companies at a time when the industry was rapidly growing.
