Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff s Office announces the February 16th, 2021 arrest of Robert Lombardo, age 46, of Leesville.
On February 15th, at approximately 6:29 p.m., the Vernon Parish Sheriff s Office received a request for a welfare check at a residence in Jeane Chapel Trailer Park in Leesville.
The caller indicated that she had a concern for the well-being of family members at the residence.
Deputies arrived at the location and encountered an unsecured door at the residence.
Deputies then located two deceased persons at the residence, which they immediately recognized, to be a crime scene. Deputies secured the scene and contacted Detectives with the VPSO Criminal Division.

VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - Authorities searched the Pitkin area for a person seen going into the woods Tuesday night, but there is no evidence that he is connected to a double-murder Sunday in Alexandria, according to the Vernon Parish Sheriffâs Office.
The Sheriffâs Office received a call of a suspicious subject walking on La. 113 south of Pitkin around 5:48 p.m. Tuesday, according to a post on the Vernon Sheriffâs Office Facebook page.

Daniel Cullen McKinstry Jr., age 36, of Leesville, was arrested by Agents with the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force following a traffic stop in the area of Highway 171 and Boone Street. Agents charged McKinstry with one count of No vehicle insurance, two counts of Child passenger restraint system, one count of Possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of Possession of Marijuana, one count of Possession of a schedule II narcotic (Methamphetamine), and one count of Illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under the age of seventeen years of age. Bond has not been set and McKinstry remains in the VPSO jail.
