FOSTER CITY, Calif., Jan. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Motiv Power Systems announced today that Prasad Ramakrishnan assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 1, 2021. Ramakrishnan succeeds Marc Herman, who retired at the end of 2020 after a ten-year tenure with the company. Ramakrishnan joined Motiv in July 2020 as a Board Advisor to assist Motiv s leadership team in developing a robust manufacturing and supply chain strategy. In his new role, he will focus on operational excellence and ensuring engineering, manufacturing, and quality processes provide customer-focused, robust, reliable, and profitable products at high-volume.

The longest year. The hardest year. Whatever you want to call it, 2020 has been a year unlike any in our lifetimes, and the impacts from a global public health crisis a century in the making will be lasting.
COVID-19 reshaped our world and left us grieving for lives lost, jobs lost and businesses shuttered. Lockdowns and closures of local schools and ski resorts tested our stamina. We kept loved ones at a distance and sacrificed beloved traditions and gatherings for the greater good.
Nearly 350,000 Americans have died from the virus as of this writing. More than 3,400 Eagle County residents have gotten the virus, and 14 have died from it.

For her dynamic and selfless contributions to the community, Sheika Gramshammer has been named the 2021 Vail Valley Citizen of the Year. The honor has been handed out since 1981 to deserving citizens who have provided broad support, vision, and leadership to the betterment of the community and its many nonprofit organizations.
Gramshammer was a co-recipient of the award with her husband Pepi in 1989, the year that she and her husband helped play an instrumental role in bringing the first of three Alpine World Ski Championships to Vail and Beaver Creek. In 1989, however, Sheika was just getting started. Since then she has provided philanthropic vision and community spirit enough for two lifetimes.
Foundation public relations director Tom Boyd said the youth services are critical.
“When the schools were closed, that didn’t mean we could just go home,” Boyd said. “We were more needed than ever before.”
A student struggling with math or reading in class may need even more help when learning remotely.
The foundation’s Magic Book Bus which brings reading resources to kids in under-served neighborhoods and offers educational resources to kids about to enter kindergarten couldn’t operate as usual this year.
Instead of picking up kids, socially distanced outdoor gatherings in parks were organized.
Other gatherings had to change, including YouthPower365’s popular youth soccer programs. To maintain social distancing, the teams were arranged like the players on a foosball table, and kids had to stay in their predetermined squares.
