Brookshire Grocery seeks rezoning of land in Bossier

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Bossier City may soon be the home of a new Brookshire’s grocery store.
On Monday, Brookshire Grocery Co. asked the Metropolitan Planning Commission to rezone residential land on Wemple Road for commercial use.
The land is adjacent to a CVS Pharmacy and the people could access Brookshire’s via Airline Drive and Wemple Road, MPC Executive Director Carlotta Askew-Brown said.

Eagle County’s real estate market has been on fire since July. That torrid pace means that it only took until Nov. 30 for yearly sales volume to exceed $3 billion for the first time.
Through November, the county’s real estate sales volume is nearly $1 billion ahead of the pace set in 2019. That was the first of three years in the previous decade that the local market had exceeded $2 billion in sales.
Those years marked a full comeback from slower years since the global recession that began in 2008. The market, which had been running at a $2 billion annual clip in the mid-2000s, fell below $1 billion in annual sales in 2009 and had been climbing back ever since.
Andover’s mayor has been supporting good causes in Andover as part of a series of engagements. Richard Rowles was out at Tesco earlier this month to judge a Christmas decoration contest for young people. He was tasked with giving out three accolades for the best decoration, picking them from across different age groups. He awarded a reindeer made out of jigsaw pieces by 12-year-old Brooke; a cotton pad snowman made by 7-year-old James and a cardboard snowman made by 4-year-old Amy aged 4 top marks. The mayor said: “What a brilliant idea to keep people s spirits up at this time of year. They’re yet more examples of how the people of Andover are refusing to allow Christmas to be cancelled.
