Simon David Jardine, 44, was staying at the Wentworth Guest House on Lennox Street on March 10. He directed the racial abuse at Mar Kaushal, the owner of the guest house who attended the property after receiving complaints from residents that Jardine was intoxicated and trying to get into other peoples rooms. Prosecuting, Siobhan Oxley, told Weymouth Magistrates Court that Mr Kaushal tried to calm Jardine down and told him to leave the property and to come back later. However, Mr Kaushal was soon called back to the address after Jardine returned and was said to have been acting even worse than the last time.
