At a recent meeting of the Pomfret Town Board the board granted a right of way to the company to install two two-inch low pressure pipeline appurtenant equipment. The pipeline can be used for the transportation of gas, oil, petroleum products or other materials. “They’ve given me everything that is required by our permit except for the money,” town Highway Superintendent Jude Gardner said. “They’ve given me the letter, a map, they told me when and where,”

January 15, 2021 - 1:22 PM Two Kelowna men could be charged following a home invasion that occurred in the city last week. Kelowna RCMP officers responded Jan. 9, to a report of a home invasion at a residence in the 600 block of Webster Road, according to the RCMP in a press release. A 50-year old Kelowna man, Clayton Zeleniski, was arrested in relation to the incident and remains in custody. A 42-year-old Kelowna man, who the police did not identify, was also arrested, but has since been released on strict conditions and is expected to make a court appearance at a later date.

Fire calls: 4 Dec. 11 at 8:27 a.m., Shelburne Fire and Rescue responded to a false alarm at Exterus Business Furniture. Dec. 11 at 9:43 a.m., guests at Countryside Motel got into an argument about personal property. Police oversaw the exchange of a cell phone and other personal items. Dec. 11 at 6:41 p.m., a man and woman arguing in the parking lot of the Pet Food Warehouse were disgruntled when police arrived. No physical assault had happened, and they didn’t want any help. Dec. 12 at 4:13 a.m., before a 911 call and hang up disconnected, police could hear a woman asking for help. Shelburne Police assisted Vermont State Police in checking on the incident on Route 7 near State Park Road. Vermont State Police talked to the woman. She was OK and did not need help.
