MUMBAI India’s elderly population is at increased risk of death because of rising temperatures as a result of climate change, a new report states.
The country recorded an estimated 31,000 heat-related deaths among people over age 65 in 2018, according to the The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, which tracks 43 indicators on links between health and climate change.
