A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Monroe County. There were already Winter Storm Warnings for much of Ohio, Indiana and southern lower Michigan.
Monroe County Central Dispatch and local first responders have already been handling spinouts and accidents on the highways.
The snowfall forecasts have fluctuated as the path of this storm settles in. Southeast Michigan is along the north edge of a massive snow and ice storm affecting much of the U.S. The current forecast for Monroe County is a total of 6 to 9 inches of snow starting tonight and into Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Robert Toth recently welcomed the newest addition, Officer Eddie Cach, to the department.
Tooth said Cach is a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University, as well as a recent graduate of Wayne County Regional Police Academy.

The police chief said Cach is an impressive new hire and considers it a big plus that he is from neighboring Brownstown Township.
âHe was raised locally and I believe he is a graduate of Woodhaven High School,â Toth said. âHe was one of our top candidates.â
The department is set to make another hire in January.
Both positions were made available through two retirements.
