Two men were arrested Saturday after slamming into a police cruiser on Long Island, then careening into a nearby house before igniting it on fire, according to police.
The men were traveling east on Woods Road in North Babylon when they ran a stop sign and crashed their SUV into a marked Suffolk County police car that was crossing the intersection of Elkton Lane just before 2 p.m. Friday, county police said.

DeSean Player, 31, was zooming down Woods Road in a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder around 2 p.m. Tuesday when he blew past a stop sign and struck a marked Suffolk County police cruiser rolling down Elkton Lane.

NORTH BABYLON, NY Two men were arrested after a car hit a marked police car before slamming into a home in a fiery crash in North Babylon Friday afternoon, according to Suffolk police.
DaSean Player, 31, of West Babylon, was driving a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on Woods Road at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the police car that was traveling southbound on Elkton Lane at 1:55 p.m., police said.
He then lost control of the Nissan and struck a house on Elkton Lane, police said. The Nissan caught fire which spread to the house. No one in the house was injured
