Police have vowed to step up patrols and ensure more deployment, following renewed shootings in Wentworth. This week, residents reported hearing a number of gunshots, believed to be “warning shots” between rival gangs in the area.
The body of a motorcyclist found days after a crash has been identified, according to Coroner Parks Evans, with the Greenville County Coroner's Office. The crash happened at about 1 p.m. May 23 on Garrison Road near Woodville Road, according to Trooper Joe Hovis, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Darryl Marchant, 46, of Acacia Avenue, Spalding. At Gosberton, in Gosberton Bank, on September 25, drove after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in breath equalled 105 microgrammes in 100 millilitres. Legal limit 35mcg.
