My question is for anyone on the City Council, or just anybody with any ideas. I walk my small dog several times a day and not a day goes by that there isn t a CONSIDERABLE amount of broken glass covering the sidewalks. Is there anything that can be done? We live on Detroit Ave x Laguna. I understand this isn t Blackhawk, but this is very dangerous for all animals, in particular, dogs. Thank you

I wanted to ask the staff at The Patch to capitalize the words when referring to a group of people. I noticed that you capitalize Black, but not White. Referring to a group of people in lowercase, is both disrespectful and micro aggressive . I’m fully aware of the bigoted policies of the Associated Press on this subject. Their reasons are specious as best. So, please always capitalize White when referring to people, lowercase is fine if you’re talking about what to color to paint your house. In the alternative, us

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), its partners, employees and workers across the country on April 26, 2021 and the week of May 3-7 are holding its second annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents and the eighth week-long National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction.
According to a press release, there were more than 1,100 construction deaths in 2019, the highest level since 2011. Fatal falls went all the way up from 36 percent of all construction fatalities to 401 deaths in 2019, a two percent increase from 2018. By participating in either or both of these national stand-downs, employers and employees are given opportunities for safe work practices on the job: PPE, training, unsafe conditions, hazards, policies and much more.
