Longhurst Group is building 36 new homes on the former Welland Hospital site in the town, and construction work is continuing at pace. Bellway Homes has applied for planning permission to build 373 new properties in zone seven of the Elsea Park development in Bourne, the final area left at the site. The principle of the development in ‘zone seven’ was established through the approval of an outline planning application and masterplan for Elsea Park in 2001, before Bellway’s involvement with the site.
