Incredible Edibles engage local gardeners May 7, 2021 Reading time: 2 min Living sustainably with Transition Cornwall+ by Penny Bateman and Karen Carriere Look for Incredible Edibles on the Road, May 29, when Transition Cornwall+ Food Action Group again gives free vegetable seedlings to our community. Nine years ago, our members gathered on a drizzly morning to re-pot 300 seedlings into large pots to give away. We hoped people could discover the value and joy of growing and eating their own fresh food, even if they only had a window sill. The line-ups of happy expectant ‘gardeners’ confirmed the interest and need. This success spawned our popular annual ‘festival’ of plants, activities and live music.

Public health officials on Prince Edward Island reported one new case of COVID-19 and three new possible exposure sites in a news release issued late Friday afternoon.  The person is in their 30s and had recently travelled outside Atlantic Canada, the release said. The person tested positive through routine testing and is self-isolating. Contact tracing is underway. The release also listed three sites linked to the new case where Islanders may have been exposed to the virus.

Fire At Gow s Home Hardware Quickly Extinguished

The Bridgewater Fire Department responded to a fire last night at Gow’s Home Hardware and Furniture. The fire which was put out quickly caused the store to be closed for day to in person shoppers to allow for clean up and damage repairs. In a post on social media, Gow’s thanked the fire department for their quick response and the members of the community who called 911.
