Family donate a further £10,000 to Hospice at Home West Cumbria

Hospice at Home West Cumbria has thanked the Mahone family, from Cleator Moor, after they donated £10,000 in memory of their loved one Joanne Mahone. This is an amazing £40,000 in total that the family has donated to the charity since April 2020. Joanne’s husband Martin said: “Jo passed away in 2019, after a short fight against a very aggressive Sarcoma cancer. The Hospice at Home nurses were so helpful and caring in Jo s final days with us. Our local community committed to raising funds to try and get treatment for Jo but unfortunately this wasn’t possible. We all agreed the money raised should go to charities close to our hearts. It was Jo’s birthday on 23rd January and we wanted to make this final donation in honour of her birthday. We are delighted to have been able to give Hospice at Home West Cumbria £40,000 in total.”
