Michigan budget experts are now estimating a much more optimistic economic outlook for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 than was estimated four months ago, thanks largely to federal COVID-19 relief funds. This comes one day after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and GOP legislative leaders announced that they had agreed to negotiate on federal COVID spending, next year’s budget and pandemic orders. During the year’s final Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference (CREC) on Friday, top officials from the Treasury Department and the nonpartisan House and Senate fiscal agencies agreed to revised economic and revenue forecasts that show a significant rebound for Michigan’s economy.

Doha: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the second Lexus LX 570 winner as part of the Bank’s ongoing Salary Transfer offer, providing new and existing QIB customers the chance to win luxury cars and a range of other exclusive benefits when transferring their salary payments to QIB.
QIB customer Ali Rashid Al Noora was the second lucky winner who drove home the latest Lexus LX 570, following the program’s second raffle draw in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QIB officials.

House of Representatives has said it was not favourably disposed to the bid by the Federal Government to purchase new scanners for the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS when the 22 old ones procured at the cost $120 million were lying fallow.
The House said it would rather prefer that the old ones be repaired and put to use instead spending another taxpayers money.
Members of the House Committee on Customs and Excise expressed the position at a public hearing, Monday, on the lack of transparency on the transfer of technical know-how from Cotecna Destination Inspection Limited, Societe Generale De Surveillance, to Nigeria Customs Service and Global Scan Systems which led to the collapse of multimillion dollar scanners at Nigeria’s Ports and Border Stations.
