Brewers to celebrate Re-Opening Day on June 25 -- game time moved to afternoon

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) The Milwaukee Brewers will celebrate Re-Opening Day 2021 on June 25 the first game of the year at American Family Field that will be at 100 percent capacity. This, after the April 1 home opener was anything but traditional, with limited capacity and few festivities.  Since Opening Day is traditionally an afternoon start, the Brewers have moved the start time of the June 25 game against the Colorado Rockies from 7:10 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Re-Opening Day will include appearances by Brewers icons Cecil Cooper and Paul Molitor, a special national anthem performance, and many other ceremonies that herald the beginning of a new season.

The Brewers home opener on April 1 was anything but traditional, with limited capacity and few of the traditional festivities that are a staple of Opening Day. That’s why the team has announced that June 25, the first day with full stadium capacity, will be “Re-Opening Day 2021.” The game time will shift from 7:10 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a special magnet schedule. The first 10,000 fans will also receive a free 1980s-style Brewers t-shirt. In a press release, Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said:  “We want our fans to experience all of the pomp and circumstance of the Home Opener as we lift the restrictions on capacity and pregame events.”

Four Schools In School District 27 Will Have New Principals. SHARE ON: School District 27 announced today (May 26) that four schools will have new principals. Elaine Colgate will be rejoining the District to take on the position at Mile 108 Elementary. Colgate served SD27 as Principal of Marie Sharpe, Cataline, and Alexis Creek schools. Shawn Nelson who has been serving as Vice-Principal at 100 Mile House Elementary since 2016 will be the Principal of Lac La Hache Elementary. Kimberly Ikebuchi, who’s has been the Learning Support Teacher at Tatla Lake, Anahim Lake, and Alexis Creek Elementary-Junior Secondary schools since 2020, will be the new Principal at Tatla Lake Elementary Junior Secondary.

RedHawks pitcher Herget has contract transferred to Cleveland

Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks logo. FARGO, N.D. ⁠ The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have transferred the contract of right-handed pitcher Kevin Herget to the Cleveland Indians, the club announced Monday. Herget, who signed with Fargo-Moorhead on Jan. 25, is playing his eighth season of professional baseball and was in his first year with the RedHawks. He was first drafted in the 39th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals out of Kent State University. The Park Ridge, N.J. native has a lifetime winning percentage of .677 and a 3.29 ERA in his professional career. After not pitching last year, Herget won his first start of the year for the RedHawks on May 19 against the Cleburne Railroaders while only allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Herget has a 1.29 ERA in 7.0 innings pitched for the ‘Hawks this season.
