OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio There’s no time better than the New Year to remind residents about their smoke detectors.
That’s the sentiment of Olmsted Township Fire Chief Patrick Kelly, who said recent fires should inspire homeowners to make sure their residences are ready for the unexpected.
“We had a fire Oct. 24 involving a woman relaxing in the front room when her smoke alarm went off,” Kelly said. “When she opened the door to the bathroom she found a fire. The resident was able to escape a pretty significant fire and call 911.
