Carer s Allowance rules have changed - latest measures are in place until May 2021

The DWP confirmed it meant unpaid carers would remain being able to claim Carer s Allowance if they have a temporary break in caring, because either they or the person they care for has coronavirus, or if either have to isolate because of it. Proving emotional support will continue to count towards the Carer s Allowance threshold of 35 hours of care per week, the DWP added. Additionally yellow wind warnings have been issued for the entirety of England and Wales this weekend, with the Met Office warning of winds as strong as 80mph. The new warnings are in addition to a yellow rain warning already in place for much of England and Wales today.
