Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) referred to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) as a member of the “Q” political party after House Republicans failed to take any action against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia).
Pelosi released the statement following news that the Republican caucus would not remove Greene, a supporter of QAnon, from the House Budget and Education panels. Greene has been criticized for espousing anti-Semitism and conspiracies, including claims that several school shootings were staged, a prominent Jewish family was responsible for a laser in space starting wildfires, and prominent Democrats had engaged in Satanic rituals involving children.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday took aim at Republican leadership hours before the full House is expected to vote to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her committee assignments in the wake of her inflammatory and conspiracy-ridden remarks that recently resurfaced.
During a briefing on Thursday, Pelosi rebuked House Republican leadership a day after Greene reportedly received a standing ovation from her colleagues after expressing some remorse for embracing QAnon-conspiracy theories during a closed-door House GOP conference meeting.
Despite showing some regret to colleagues behind closed doors, Greene has yet to issue a public apology for her incendiary remarks. Greene has repeatedly vowed publicly on Twitter that she “won’t back down” amid mounting calls for her expulsion from Congress and the revocation of her committee assignments.

The swipe was a reference to Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is facing removal from her committee posts after more than a week of vocal outrage from members of Congress over Greene’s past comments in support of conspiracy theories, such as QAnon and 9/11 trutherism, and social media interactions that some took as threatening violence against Pelosi.
