On Monday morning, Donald Trump declared that, as far as he s concerned, the Big Lie would refer forevermore exclusively to the nature of his 2020 defeat. Less than an hour later, House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) responded, The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system.
A new poll out Wednesday shows House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney facing trouble on two fronts as she fights to retain her position in GOP leadership on Capitol Hill.
According to a new poll from the Club for Growth, a conservative political action committee with a focus on economic freedom, Cheney’s support is underwater at home as Republicans in Washington demand a second referendum to kick the Wyoming lawmaker from her number three role in leadership.
Fifty-two percent of likely Republican primary voters said they would vote against Cheney next year no matter the opponent. Only 14 percent said they would continue to support her.

WASHINGTON â Rep. Elise M. Stefanik is on the path to move up in Washington after securing key endorsements in a bid to take over as chair of the House Republican Conference, the No. 3 spot in House Republican leadership.
Rep. Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, was endorsed for the position by former President Donald J. Trump in a Wednesday morning statement, which came shortly after the No. 2 House Republican, Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., also officially endorsed her.
Rep. Stefanik has reportedly been calling around to other GOP legislators to win their support, as current House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., loses support over her ongoing criticism of former President Trump, his falsehoods about the 2020 election and his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Rep. Stefanik and her staff declined to comment for this story.
Democratic aides say the GOP leadership jockeying is evidence of the Republican Party’s unwavering allegiance to Trump.

WASHINGTON (CN) Congresswoman Liz Cheney, chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, has had enough of Republicans supporting former President Donald Trump’s claims of a stolen 2020 election and in reaction, the conference is set to cast a vote next week on whether to replace her.
Cheney, who represents Wyoming, wrote an opinion piece in the Washington Post on Wednesday outlining her frustration with the situation.
