Bruce County to offer targeted emergency child care program for school-aged children of first responders and health care professionals contingent on provincial approval.
On Monday December 21, the Premier of Ontario announced Safer at Home Restrictions for the next 28 days and ordered a range of time-limited public health actions to help curb the spread of COVID-19. Recognizing the foundational nature of child care in providing a trusted and safe environment for children so that parents can work, the following is being implemented in regards to child care during this time:

Ontario has announced a new state of emergency and stay-at-home order, effective January 14. Previously announced pandemic lockdown restrictions and public health guidance has been modified.

“Under this order, everyone must stay home and only go out for essential trips to pick up groceries or go to medical appointments,” Ford said. “The system is on the brink of collapse. It’s on the brink of being overwhelmed. We’re at levels we’ve never seen before.”
