what type of medical attention have those prisoners received and what will be
received in the future if changes are being made in treatment protocols;
the specific steps being taken to protect prisoners who are not infected, including
where noninfected prisoners are being housed in the Jail;
the results of the Board of Health visit to the Jail, its recommendations, and the
steps being taken to implement the recommendations;
any and all COVID-19 protocols currently in place at the Jail;
The Vigo County jail is experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak. Now, a federal judge is looking for answers.

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) A federal judge sent Vigo County Sheriff john Plasse a list of things to provide when it comes to COVID-19 inside the jail. It s a part of a lawsuit Vigo County has been involved in for years.
It s day 6 of a 15-day lockdown for the Vigo County jail. That s because they had more than 100 inmates test positive for COVID-19.
Tuesday night, a federal judge ordered the sheriff to provide a COVID-19 update. Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said since they are under a federal lawsuit with the jail overcrowding he wasn t that surprised.

Take responsibility for COVID at jail
In a Dec. 11 media statement, Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse says of the recent COVID outbreak in his jail, âUnfortunately, itâs something we couldnât contain to keep out of the jail. And Iâm not going to apologize for our efforts, we did everything we could do to keep it away.â
I agree. Sheriff Plasse shouldnât apologize for one inmate dying and 108 inmates contracting COVID under his watch. He should resign.
Plasse says he did everything he could do to keep COVID out of the jail. Actually, the facts suggest he did as much as he could to ensure that a COVID outbreak was inevitable, first and foremost by denying his prisoners masks for the first nine months of the pandemic. A federal judge Tuesday ordered Vigo County s sheriff to provide a COVID-19 status update on infected inmates, medical attention and specific steps being taken to protect those incarcerated at the county jail from the contagious virus.
The ACLU of Indiana filed a motion Monday after Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse last week stated 108 inmates and two staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
