MacIver Staff From March 24 – 31, the state reported 3,296 new COVID-19 cases, compared to 3,487 the week prior. New COVID-19 cases have dropped 93% since the peak in mid-November. There were 344 new hospitalizations with COVID-19 this past week, compared to 365 the week prior. New hospitalizations have dropped 78% since the peak back in mid-November. The total COVID-19 inpatient population statewide increased from 248 to 253. Statewide hospitalizations have dropped 89% from the all-time high of 2,278 during the week ending November 17th. Meanwhile, the state’s total hospital capacity is over 11,500 inpatients. There were 1,980 immediately available beds on March 31. In the past week, the state reported 25 new deaths, compared to 58 the week prior. That’s a drop of 57% over just one week. The number of new deaths has dropped 94% since it peaked at 423 during the week ending on December 22nd.
