This might be the most Wisconsin way to get a COVID-19 vaccine. It involves a Milwaukee brewery and free beer.
Black Husky Brewing, 909 E. Locust St., is teaming up with the Milwaukee Health Department to host a vaccination clinic at the brewery from noon to 6 p.m. May 15 and 16.
If someone brings in an unvaccinated friend to be vaccinated, they get a free beer and so does their friend, after they get their vaccination, said Toni Eichinger, Black Husky s co-owner, in an email.
The Milwaukee Health Department will provide the vaccines at no cost at the clinic, and no appointments are necessary.
Wisconsinites are not required to show a photo ID to get a dose of COVID-19 vaccine, a top state health official said Wednesday. You do not need to have an ID to get a vaccine, Julie Willems Van Dijk, deputy secretary of the state Department of Health Services, said in an interview with the Journal Sentinel. No one should be required to produce an ID in order to be vaccinated. It s OK to ask for one, but not require it.
She said health officials have been working with vaccine providers to make it clear on all websites and any written materials as well as in practice that people aren t required to have an ID, and won t be turned away if they don t show an ID.
