After he was passed over for open chief positions in Wisconsin’s two largest cities, Portland Police Bureau Deputy Chief Chris Davis has been hired as Green Bay’s new police chief. Davis was in charge of the police response to widespread protests and unrest in Portland throughout 2020.
Last week, the Green Bay Police and Fire Commission chose Davis to be the city’s next chief of police. Davis will replace Andrew Smith, who announced his retirement in April.
