New Delhi [India], April 9 (ANI): It is going to be a long wait for movie buffs before they can see Kangana Ranaut in her much-awaited film Thalaivi as the film s release date has been postponed in the wake of the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
After the lockdown last year, many filmmakers were awaiting the release of their upcoming films in 2021. But, considering the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, and the situation that the nation is going through, the films which were slated to have a theatrical release soon, have also been postponed.

The release of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer
Thalaivi has been postponed amid the second wave of Covid-19 in India, it was announced on Friday. The film was slated to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on April 23.
A statement issued by the makers of the film, which is a biopic on late Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, read: We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response and unconditional love you have shown for
Thalaivi trailer. As a team, we have sacrificed a lot in making this film and thank every member of the cast and crew who have supported us in this challenging but remarkable journey.

The film marks Kangana Ranaut s first trilingual, releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.
The ambitious project is set to release worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu by Zee Studios on April 23, 2021.

Kangana Ranaut alleged that big stars can t openly praise her as they do for Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt film due to movie mafia terror. She tweeted:

Last month, on the occasion of Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut s 34th birthday, the first trailer of her upcoming film Thalaivi was unveiled. The biopic is based on the life of late politician J Jayalalitha, who changed the face of politics in Tamil Nadu.
Ranaut was showered with praises from the whoâs who of Bollywood. However, she missed out on being lauded by bigwigs she cites as âmovie mafiaâ. In a fresh tweet, the âQueenâ actor claimed that superstar Akshay Kumar secretly complimented her for âThalaiviâ trailer.

On Wednesday, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter handle to state that she has been secretly getting calls and messages several big stars including Akshay Kumar for her work in upcoming film Thalaivi after the trailer of the latter released recently. She, however, added, that unlike films of Alia Bhatt and others, these big stars can t praise her openly because of movie mafia terror .
