A passionate educator, a visionary and a man ahead of his time is how past colleagues have described a highly respected former principal at Tauranga Boys College. A memorial service to celebrate the life of 96-year-old Norman David Morris will be held at St John s Anglican Church in Bureta Rd from 2pm on March 13.

Reporter for the Northern Advocate jodi.bryant@nzme.co.nz Hundreds of thousands of marine life are dead and Waipū residents are being driven out of their homes by a stench described as rotten eggs and dead bodies believed to be caused by recurring algal bloom.
What s more, a wildlife refuge within the affected area is an integral feeding zone for protected bird species.
The Waipū estuary lagoon, south of Johnson s Point, has been described as a dead zone with lifeless marine species including eels, fish and plants. What remains alive are said to be beaching themselves, gasping for breath in an attempt to escape the black oxygen-depleted waters, believed to be from trapped and rotting algal bloom.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari, in a birthday tribute, has described Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as “a reliable and dedicated deputy who is admirably competent”.
He also said the Vice-President exudes confidence and passion in the performance of his job.
President Buhari poured the encomiums on Osinbajo in a message to celebrate the Vice President on his 64th birthday Monday 8 March.
“I’m proud to have selected Osinbajo as my running mate and he has given a good account of himself since our journey began in 2015,” Buhari said.
According to the President, “the Vice President is a cool-headed gentleman who puts the interest of Nigeria above other narrow considerations.”
