In his Christmas message President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated that while the Christian brethren of the country still anguish over the brutal attacks that took place in the year prior, they were able to dispel the fear and insecurity and provide everyone the opportunity to engage in religious observances freely.
He further added that in the same manner, justice will be meted to the affected as well.

MP Wijedasa Rajapaksa has submitted a request stating to know the whereabouts of the funds forwarded by the World Muslim Alliance to be distributed among victims of the Easter Sunday coordinated terror attacks.
In a letter forwarded to the Secretary of the President, the MP stated that the request was submitted after the victims of the terror attacks informed him that they are yet to receive the fund from the World Muslim Alliance.
The letter pointed out that foreign media had reported that US$ 5 million was given to the victims of the Easter Sunday terror attacks, after the World Muslim Alliance National Peace Conference held in Sri Lanka in July 2019.
