HANDWARA, Jan 14: Rashtriya Rifles 15 Battalion organised ‘Vilgam Village Games Festival- 2021’on the occasion of Army Day, here today.
The festival was organised for the people of villages including Ramhal, Rajwar and Magam wherein 1500 locals along with 50 COVID -19 warriors (ASHA workers) and village Panches and Sarpanches participated.
Ex-servicemen of the area also graced the festival. The wreath laying was done by the ex-servicemen at the War Memorial of the battalion to pay tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for their motherland.
The Games Festival was inaugurated by the Commander Eight Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Brigadier Neeraj Sharma by lighting up the beacon of unity. A total of 21 village games including ‘Piddu Garam’, ‘Spoon Race’, ‘Gilli Danda’, ‘Arm wrestling’, ‘Wushu’ and ‘Karate’ were organised in the fest
