Ivan Maisel Selected for Alabama Sports Writers Associationâs Hall of Honor
Legendary writer lands prestigious award in his home state, on par in status with the ASWA s Hall of Fame

Legendary sports writer Ivan Maisel has been selected for induction into Alabama Sports Writers Association’s prestigious Hall of Honor.
Maisel will be presented the award during the ASWA annual convention, set for June 13 in Birmingham. I m touched, Maisel said. It means a lot.
The Hall of Honor recognizes individuals who either have been instrumental to the growth and success of ASWA, or to sports journalism in general and he or she has a strong Alabama tie.
The Canucks’ game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, is currently slated for Sunday. It remains to be seen if that game will be played, though it’s worth noting that both teams still had multiple players on the COVID protocols list as of Friday evening.
