STEPHEN BRADLEY admitted goalkeeper Alan Mannus had kept Shamrock Rovers in the tie after his stoppage-time penalty save against Slovan Bratislava in Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier.
It meant the tie stayed at 2-0 and left the Hoops with a slight chance ahead of Tuesday’s second leg in Tallaght Stadium.
“I thought we did well for large periods,” Bradley said. “They are obviously a very good side. The goal we conceded after half-time was very poor from our point of view.

Slovan Bratislava celebrating their win over Dundalk in Tallaght Stadium in 2019
SLOVAN BRATISLAVA
Slovan have a rich European football history having won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1969 beating Barcelona in Basil. They have made the groups stages of the Europa League three times in the last decade.
In the 2019 they defeated Dundalk (1-0 at home and 3-1 in Tallaght) in the Europa League third qualifying round and Greek side PAOK in the play-off round to make the group stages where they earned four points (from a win over Besiktas at home and a 2-2 draw away to Braga).
Last year, they had to forfeit their fixture against Faroe Island side KI due to a positive COVID-19 test in their squad and then lost to 4-3 on penalties to Finnish side KuPS after their one-legged tie ended 1-1 after 120 minutes so they will be hoping to fair better this season.
