(HCP Photo/Caitlin Forsha) The Whiteoak Wildcats are set to send two athletes to the OHSAA Division III State Track and Field Championships, and in doing so, they’ve broken a streak of multiple years of not having a state qualifier in either the boys or girls program. In the boys event, Whiteoak will have senior Nick Bailey competing in two events, with those being the long jump and the 100-meter dash. For the girls, junior and first-year track runner Lydia Kittner qualified for state in the 400-meter dash.

For Pollard, the 300-meter hurdles race this weekend is the final event she’ll be competing in for what has been a very successful and record-setting career, as the senior athlete set eight school records in not only track & field, but swimming and soccer during her final season.
