As a medical student and resident, Suzanne Koven, Med 86 (MD), 89 (PGF), HS 89, appreciated Johns Hopkins distinguished history, dating to the pioneering 19th-century physician William Osler. On the one hand, it instilled in me a very deep sense of pride and belonging to this rich heritage, she says in a Zoom interview conducted against a backdrop of diplomas and awards plaques for both writing and medicine. But, on the other hand, I didn t stop to consider that the heritage was almost entirely male.
Motivational Monday: Living our best life
Besides the rain, the weekend was pretty good.
I started my Saturday at Dodge Country Used Cars; they are having a big memorial day event next weekend.
They have bounce houses, a petting zoo, and a dunking booth, to name a few.
Of course, Dodge Country will serve food.
After I did my weekend show, I headed over to Twice as funny comedy lounge to check out Gary Owens.
TAFC has a great upcoming line-up with Tommy Davidson, Lil Duval, Earthquake, Jess Hilarious, and Nephew Tommy.
After watching Gary Owens, I finished my Saturday night at my nightly spot Chiefs Sports Bar and Grill.

Upon opening the door to the exam room, I found a sad Patient, his shoulders slumped and his mouth down turned, “Oh, Doc, I’m not happy.”
Observing him, I hearkened back to the words of my esteemed professor, Dr. William Osler. It was around the turn of the century that I recall sitting in a classroom and listening to this great “Father of Modern Medicine.”
Although I, myself, am a noted curmudgeon (and an honored member of the World Society of Curmudgeons) I continue to abide by the words of my teacher.
