Press Release – KartSport New Zealand Auckland karter Ryan Grant has been racing and winning in New Zealand’s premier 125cc/6-speed KZ2 class for 14 years. And if he continues to drive with the pace, precision and patience he showed at the third round of this year’s Giltrap Group ProKart Series at the KartSport Bay of Plenty club’s newly renamed Apparelmaster Raceway over the weekend he could well be doing so for another 14, While he didn’t qualify quickest – that honour went to former international and now top local team owner Daniel Bray – or claim the round win – fellow Auckland category old hand Mat Kinsman did that – Grant simply never gave up, getting his reward – finally – in the KZ2 class Final with a 3.2 second victory over Kinsman, Graeme Smyth and Joshua Parkinson.

Takashi Murakami Guest Curates Super-Rough With Outsider Art Fair Dealers in New York

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami will guest curate Super-Rough, a large-scale group exhibition of close to two hundred sculptural works by approximately 50-60 self-taught, visionary and vernacular folk artists from around the world. Overseen by Murakami, in collaboration with several dozen Outsider Art Fair dealers and gallerists, the exhibition will take place in a raw, expansive ground floor space at 150 Wooster St. in SoHo, New York City. Takashi Murakami has been tapped by Outsider Art Fair organizers to curate a monumental presentation of sculptures in New York City. Murakami will lend his curatorial talents for an immense exhibition featuring artworks crafted by folk artists from all across the globe. Called “Super-Rough,” the presentation is an extension of the fair’s annual programming that champions dimensionality and handmade aesthetics versus the more sleek and “shiny consumer consciousness” of most contemporary art fairs. “‘Super-Rough,’ a word play on ’Superflat’––Murakami’s highly influential, conceptual explication for the phenomenon of a new genre of Japanese Pop Art as it emerged towards the end of the last millennium––counterposes the private, idiosyncratic and visionary universe of outsider art as an alternative to c
