Directed by Max Roberts, the piece will open at the MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton before visiting Royal and Derngate Northampton, Rose Theatre Kingston, Everyman Cheltenham, York Theatre Royal, Horsham Capitol and Newcastle Theatre Royal.
Produced by David Pugh and originally seen at Theatre by the Lake, this production of Russell s 1980 piece has set and costume designs by Patrick Connellan, lighting design by Drummond Orr and sound design by David Flynn.
It follows a married hairdresser Rita who returns to education and wants to train as a teacher, where she encounters frustrated poet and academic Frank.

PITTSFIELD â Facing a second summer of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, Berkshire Theatre Group is planning a smaller number of shows â and keeping them outdoors.
Three theater productions and two solo concerts are scheduled at the group s campuses in Pittsfield and Stockbridge.
The summer season begins June 18, with Oscar Wildeâs 1895 satirical farce, âThe Importance of Being Earnest,â in the Fitzpatrick Main Stage tent at the Berkshire Theatre Festival campus in Stockbridge.
The comedy will be followed by two solo concerts in The Colonial Theatre big tent in Pittsfield â Tony Award winner Kelli OâHara (âThe King and Iâ), June 25-26, and Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis (âThe Gershwinsâ Porgy & Bessâ), 7 p.m. July 2-3; âThe Wizard of Oz,â July 23-Aug. 15, also in the Colonial big tent; and âNina Simone: Four Womenâ by Christina Ham, Aug. 13-Sept. 5, in the Unicorn Theatre courtyard in
